3 Bar Energy Bar
3 Bar is a small womanly owned business out of California that makes protein/energy bars that are vegan, soy free, gluten free, and GMO free. I sampled both of their bars, the Cocoa Crunch and the Tropical-Tri. When doing a product review I like to get enough of a consumable and/or try a product out a few times in different conditions before I write a review in order to get a more in depth feel or taste of a product. With 3 Bar I had four of each bar and used them in different workouts from hiking, trail running, and cycling. I wanted to see how they sat in my stomach while on a long trail run, how much fluids I needed in order to wash them down, and how they held up in the back of a cycling jersey during a hot century ride.
Both bars pasted all three tests I put them through, okay you can call it four with taste being the forth! They sat in my stomach well, was not hard to wash down at all, and the chocolate did not melt too badly in my pocket on a hot day. Personally, I have not found any quality chocolate, besides pure dark chocolate, which does not melt in your pocket on a hot day. I was surprised that I liked the Cocoa Crunch bar the best. It tasted like a not so sweet brownie, which was refreshing especially if most of the nutrition you consume is sweet. The Tropical-Tri bar was a little sweeter, more fruity, and my husbands favorite.
Over all, 3 Bar has two great whole food products that I recommend if you are looking for a vegan, soy free, gluten free, GMO free, protein packed, and want to support small womanly owned businesses!
